Sawyer James is 14 months old!

This month Sawyer is 14 months old. It's getting more exciting everyday and he is learning so much. His absolute favorite thing to do is...run! Everywhere!!!  Everything turns into a ball or a drum and then we run with it. We timed him sitting on Clay's lap the other night and he sat still for 57 seconds. That's the longest ever. I heard momma's say "oh just wait, he will explore everything!" Yep, we are there. Everything is exciting to touch, hit or eat...except all the healthy veggies he should be eating. :)

Every night when I put him to bed I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of joy he brings to our life. I never knew that a 22 pound little man could make me smile so much. His laugh is contagious and he thinks almost everything is funny! I could listen to his little giggle forever! He bounces to any music, climbs on anything he can reach, jabbers the entire time he is awake, and carries some sort of stick or ball in his hand at all times. I love watching his little imagination start to work, and his eyes light up when he sees the people he loves. My heart is full of joy!

A few new things in SJ's little life!

Teeth
13

Favorite Foods
cheese, cheese, cheese, anything with cheese, avocado, banana, yogurt, animal crackers...and maybe oreos :)

New Words
duck, jello (ello)

Books
This is the very first month that SJ is really taking a liking to books. He carries them around, turns the pages and occasionally comes and sits on my lap to look at a few pages...occasionally! I was really excited about his new pop-up book that he would look at, "wow, he is so smart," I thought...and then he brought me all the Sesame Street characters he tore out of the book...awesome!

Games
The kid could play chase all day long! He loves to run from anyone at anytime! We play lots of little tickle games and his daddy can make him laugh like no other!

Sleep
He has taken a new liking to talking in his crib for about an hour and a half after putting him down. He doesn't cry, just talks and talks and occasionally giggles. We peeked in the other night and he had his animals all stacked up and was trying to hike his leg over the crib...and so it begins!

Shoes
He LOVES his shoes. He brings them over to us all the time and wants to put them on. Any shoes! Just like his momma!

Independence
Of course, like most children, when we say no or take something away it's not always pretty. He looks at us, clinches his little arms up real tight and goes "eerrrrrrr." It is SO hard not to laugh! Also when we say "no" or if he goes near something he isn't supposed to touch he nods his head back and forth over and over...and again it is so hard not to laugh!

Bathtime
It is getting super fun! He is using his little imagination and playing with his toys. He has a tug boat (thank you Loretta :) that he loves. He tries really hard to make the noise...we aren't quite there yet!

Crafts
Finally, they are starting to go on the paper and not in his mouth! We colored and painted and played in pudding this month. I can't believe he can actually do some Pinterest crafts with me...IT.IS.SO.MUCH.FUN!
